MARMARA SAĞLIK SEKTÖRÜ İŞADAMLARI DERNEĞİ

In the sector, the idea of assembling under an association framework dates back to the years of Nineties.

The association which has been established under the name of Istanbul Medical Supplies Import, Export and Sellers Association in March 1992, and forms the basis of MASSİAD of today, is one of the first associations established in the medical sector in Turkey.

Membership to the new association, which has been established with an amateur spirit and furthermore getting the support of “trade’s veterans” none of whom remain amongst us today, has reached to 130 after starting to operation in a short time of 6 months.

In this stage, the Association on the one hand endeavoured to promote social interaction between their members through meetings at its club house located at its head office and through other social activities; and on the other hand endeavoured to solve those days’ primary problems such as recognition of the association by hospitals and official institutions in our region, communicating call of tenders to members and detection of unserious and illicit firms and their revelation to members.

In the general assembly of 1994, association’s name has been changed to Medical Association of Marmara, as well as to secure the participation of firms in the neighbourhood provinces.

Two consequent periods following the year 1998, has been recession era for the association. Adverse factors such as the difficult economic conditions of the period, or the unchecked and besides unqualified exponential increase in the number of firms in the sector, or the decline of sector circles’ interest to the association, slowed down the function of the association and the association has only been able to survive with the help and sacrifice of certain members.

In the General Assembly of 2002, a new era has begun with the efforts of the members who has assessed the conditions and emphasised the necessity and importance of non-governmental organizations once more. And as an outcome of the activities an extraordinary general meeting assembled in 2003, and meanwhile, the association’s name has been changed to its final form as- Association of Marmara Medical Sector Businessmen (MASSİAD).

At the same year, cooperation has been established with other sector associations active in other regions of the country. In year 2004, Federation of All Medical Suppliers Associations (TÜMDEF) has been established and MASSİAD took its place in the federation as a founder member.

Today

Massiad has got more than 183 members as company from Marmara region specially from cities of İstanbul,İzmit,Adapazarı,Düzce,Edirne,Tekirdağ,Bursa etc..

The association which has been a member of TOBB Turkish Assosiaciation of Chambers,İTO İstanbul Chamber of Commerce also delegeted at Turkish Ministry of Health about sector meetings.

Massiad also has got professional Solution Partners about IT Technologies, Invest , Lawyer, Fair Organiser,Education(University)
